Poulton Hill Vineyard

Poulton Hill Vineyard

We’ve chosen grape varieties (white Bacchus, Seyval Blanc and Phoenix; red Pinot Noir, Regent and Rondo) that perfectly complement the Cotswold climate, geography and soil here at our small, family-owned vineyard. And, as a result, we don’t mind admitting we’ve won a host of awards for our English wines and spirits!

Our must-try is: Our Bulari 2019 sparkling white. Pale gold in appearance, you’ll find a vibrant nose of freshly-cut green apple and pear, with citrusy notes of orange peel, lemon and hints of lime zest. The palate is filled with mouth-watering fruits of juicy apple at the forefront, hints of grapefruit and lemon (sherbet) together with a fine mousse, creating a wonderfully well rounded mouth-feel with a crisp, clean finish.

Where and when to drink: Our trademark name for English sparkling wine is ‘Bulari’, derived from the Latin Bullarum, meaning bubbles. So come and enjoy a glass here at our vineyard and cellar door, at one of our tours and tastings, where the surrounding countryside is steeped in Roman history, with the Roman town of Cirencester close by.

Tours and tastings: Have a look at our online calendar for one of the regular events where you can taste our unique wines and spirits; and walk amongst 9,750 vines planted on the warm and sunny south-facing slopes of Poulton Hill Estate, all harvested by hand. You can also hear more about how these are blended and balanced by our experienced contract winemaker and distiller.
