When a new owner took over the Old Stocks Inn, on the green in Stow-on-the-Wold, the 17th century building was tired and tatty. Thanks to TLC, 'a new team, a sprinkling of imagination and a top-to-toe refurbishment', it's now anything but! The new incarnation is a delightful combination of original charm and 21st century luxury.
What's more, it promises 'the warmest welcome in the Cotswolds'.
Chef John Broughton uses all local ingredients, and changes menus seasonally to reflect them. His style is British with - he adds - a little element of surprise to delight and intrigue.
The team is always happy to recommend the perfect pairing from the lists of fine wines, craft beers and specialist spirits on offer.
